Thousands of people responded to World Environment Day founded by Ricoh Group

Ricoh's World Environment Day (WED), which took place from June 5, attracted many participants to show their responsibility for the environment. The WED event also became part of commitments for social responsibility of many entrepreneurs. Once participating in this global event, all individuals pledge actions to minimize the impact on the environment and call relatives to act as well.

As of now, WED increasingly attracts a greater number of participants. This demonstrates the awareness of individuals and organizations around the world who care about the environment and the sense of reducing actions that are harmful to the environment.

As a part of WED, individuals and organizations will pledge their own specific environmental actions at workplaces, home and public places. Such as: using natural light sources, increasing temperatures when using air conditioner up 1oC, using LED lights, carrying drinking water bottles, using eco-frinedly bags instead of nylon bags, growing more green vegetables, ... These tiny acts create big impact when many individuals and organizations work together.

In Vietnam, Ricoh Vietnam has responded and called on people to join in committing and implementing environmental actions and receiving "organic" gifts from Ricoh Vietnam. The event has really spread to many other companies and individuals in Vietnam and has become meaningful action ways for environmental responsibility.

Since 2006, the Ricoh Group sets 5 June "World Environment Day", as 'Ricoh Global Eco Action', when all members of Ricoh Group around the world think about the global environment, take eco actions, and improve their eco awareness.

This year, we'd like to focus more on eco actions of each person as well as that of Ricoh Group Company, Site, Section. And we hope that the eco action way is easy to act, and to express himself / herself. So this year's theme is 'Think & Act - as you are -' where we try to think about our eco behavior until now, and try more voluntary, unique eco actions as we hope for the future global environment.
